What counts as Asian
A country on the Asian landmass, or in the island chains off it.
This rule is ours. It is not borrowed from any standard, so it is a choice rather than an authority, and you may reasonably disagree with where it lands.
No borderline has had to be decided yet: China, Japan, the Philippines and Thailand are nobody's edge case. The countries that straddle the Urals or the Bosphorus will be decided here, in the open, when a recipe needs them to be.
